Historic Scenery

As beautiful as any commercially operated farm, Mereworth Farm offers stone fences, solid barns, numerous paddocks and lush fields of bluegrass on which horses happily graze in retirement.

Our Residents

Mereworth Farm is home to 175 horses, mostly Thoroughbreds, but including Standardbreds, Quarter Horses, Tennessee Walkers, a Rocky Mountain Horse, a Mustang and a mule.

Our Mission

“The primary activity of the Corporation shall be the provision of care and maintenance (including, but not limited to, shelter, food, grooming and veterinary care) for horses and other animals which, because of advanced age, injury or otherwise, have been abandoned or neglected or are to be put to death by their owners.”
